About Alex
A graduate of the UNC- Chapel Hill School of Business, Alex began his real estate career in 1973. Since that time he has continued to enhance his skills for client service. In 1978, he completed post- baccalaureate courses in accounting and earned the Certificate in Management Accounting (CMA). Having been involved in property remodeling, he sat for and passed the NC General Contractor’s Licensing exams.
Zoning, being an essential element to commercial property value, Alex performed independent research in City & Regional Planning. The effort has resulted in numerous positive re-zoning outcomes for clients in the counties of: Wake, Caldwell, and Catawba.
An unpaid public outreach has been made by writing the real estate feature of the week for the Hickory Daily Record. The properties featured have always been other agent’s listings never one of his own. The feature has run every weekend since September of 1996.
Civic & Association involvement has included: ROTARY, the Chamber of Commerce, the REALTOR Association, and the local Home Builder’s Association.
Board and Commission service has included: the Upper Catawba River Riparian Buffer Committee; the Land Use Development Review Board; and the now defunct Hickory Subdivision Review Board .
Alex’s sports interest is boating. Alex currently serves as Commodore for the Peninsula Yacht Club on Lake Norman. He has a boating related dotcom and has been published in the magazine Latitudes and Attitudes
